Our law clerks are legally trained team members who for one reason or another are not able to call themselves a "Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand".
Often this is because the have moved here from overseas and although they were lawyers there, it is too difficult and expensive to re-sit New Zealand exams and become a solicitor here.
Others are law clerks because they have completed their law degrees here in New Zealand but have not yet completed the "Professionals" course which they are required to pass to become a New Zealand Solicitor.
No matter why our team members are called law clerks they are a great bunch of hardworking people who are invaluable to have on the team.
