Claudia Leighs

Claudia was born and raised in Christchurch. After graduating with an LLB from the University of Canterbury and being admitted to the Bar in December 2016, she began her career as a specialist plaintiff insurance lawyer, frequently representing Christchurch homeowners.

Claudia went on to work at Canterbury Chambers as an employed barrister specialising in civil litigation, including commercial disputes, property disputes, construction disputes, insurance disputes, and debt recovery.

Claudia is passionate about dispute resolution, drawing on her pragmatic and honest approach to deliver the best outcomes for clients. Known for being a skilled problem solver, she takes pride in maintaining clear and consistent communication throughout the process to keep clients informed every step of the way.

Outside of work, Claudia enjoys playing hockey, trail running, and spending quality time with friends, family, and her cavoodle, Dozer.
