Full Time November 2017 to February 2018
We have an opportunity for three motivated and enthusiastic Summer Clerks to join our firm over the summer of 2017/2018, based in our new central city offices on the 3rd floor of the BNZ Centre at the heart of the CBD, overlooking Ballantynes and the Restart retail area on Cashel Mall.
Our firm of just under 100 passionate legal professionals and support team, a 2016 Law Firm of the Year finalist, is recognised as being in the top 20 law firms nationally and in the top three law firms in Christchurch. We carry out a broad range of legal work across our 9 specialist teams. Our Summer Clerks will be exposed to a wide variety of real work during their time with us - including working with our fast-paced residential and commercial property teams, through our Litigation team (including the potential to observe real court proceedings), and into our Business and Banking teams – real work opportunities supervised and supported by leaders in their legal fields.
Our Summer Clerks are buddied with a solicitor to help them make the best of their time with us, and have a supervising senior lawyer in place who will mentor them during their time with us. This opportunity would suit students in their last two years of study and would also suit graduates who are looking for full time work. The opportunity for graduates to get some Summer Clerking experience may assist with permanent job prospects both with our firm and elsewhere.
The successful applicant will display:
• An informative and interesting CV (with covering letter) helping us to understand them fully as a person rather than simply as a student
• Good grades in their law papers
• Proven ability to get on with others, work well under pressure and to be completely reliable
• Self-motivation, drive and enthusiasm to complete every task to the very best of their ability.
Our firm prides itself on employing the best people and then assisting them to grow their own careers to their full potential.
Applications, including a covering letter, full CV and course transcripts, for these positions are now welcomed via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications close 21 April 2017. Please mark them for the attention of "The Managing Partner."
We look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks to on-going expansion of the practice, we have a vacancy for a 3-5 year PQE solicitor for our Queenstown team, based in our fantastic central Queenstown offices.
